Most Push-ups in One Hour with a 60 lb Backpack

How many can push-ups can you do?

Doing the maximum number of push-ups in a hour is not enough challenge for some athletes, they also need to add 60lb to their back.

Most Push-Ups in an Hour with 60lbs - Guinness Book of Records

The most push-ups completed in one hour while carrying a 60-pound (27.2 kg) weighted pack on the back, as ratified by the Guinness World Record, measures both muscular endurance and the ability to maintain strict push-up form under significant additional load, making it one of the toughest upper-body strength endurance records.

There may be other claims for this record made online, which are more difficult to compare and verify.

Correct Technique

The assessors at the Guinness World Record requires that record setters perform the push-up with a specific technique, which is essentially what we describe as a standard push-up. Participants must keep the body straight throughout (i.e. no bending at the knees or waist), and the body must be lowered until at least a 90-degree angle is attained at the elbows. The body is then raised until the arms are straight, although the elbows do not need to be locked.
